In 2050, the world's population is set to exceed 9 billion. Unfortunately, our current food system is not designed to support an equitable food future for everyone. Much of our food, grown and consumed, is not equally distributed throughout the globe, leaving many food insecure and without better options for the future.

While food insecurity is a fact for many, the power imbalance in our food systems is often the result of the stories we tell. Power and equity are at the heart of most, if not all, food narratives. Who gets to eat what foods, who determines the value of food, who gets to decide which foods are healthy and which foods are not set the stage for our communal and personal food interactions. However, these narratives may not be as fixed or impenetrable as we believe them to be.

We have the power to shift these narratives to be more balanced and inclusive. As we prepare future generations to live in a food-challenged world, we must change the way we tell our food stories. Hungry Education has committed to introducing or featuring future food topics whenever possible. We are one of the few food education organizations in the United States to do so. Hungry is looking to partner with businesses, organizations, schools, and universities to help drive the conversation of sustainable and equitable food futures forward.

We are interested in the following topics related to the future of food, Robotics, AI, Food Waste, Equitable Food Futures for All, Sci-Fi as a Future Food teaching tool, Reskilling/Upskilling for Future Food Labor, Food Technology, and Future Food Design.

Hungry provides multi-layered storytelling for food products and services through consumer-focused experience design, customer education, curriculum design, market and subject matter research, and data collection and analysis. We're especially interested in taking complex information related to the challenges our food system is facing in the near future and crafting thoughtful and accessible experiences through experience design and experiential learning curriculum.
